There are few events that I look forward to more than the tailgating scene in the parking lots of Beaver Stadium at Penn State University.
To watch this small college town of State College, Pa. transform into a massive football destination on any given home game weekend is a very impressive event to be a part of no matter which sideline your team is on.
It is a large reason why I decided to return to this area after graduating over a decade ago-this huge “hidden gem” in Central Pennsylvania.
And Boy…Do I get into it- the festivities, the camaraderie, and meeting so many great people! It is truly what my fiscal calendar revolves around. With that being said, I am no gigantic college football aficionado, but there is something about the energy as well as the alumni pride that brings me back game after game!
Now, the sheer magnitude of Beaver Stadium to the common spectator can be overwhelming to say the least. In my case, I must navigate a slew of stairs, seats, bleachers, ramps, and concourses-some of the time by myself and without accompaniment. BUT DON’T YOU WORRY FOLKS! I’ve got a strategy on all fronts of the process when it comes to facilities of this nature. All sorts of event staff, acquaintances, and simply good hearted individuals who hardly know me help me in what ever way possible, and I always have a safe and enjoyable experience no matter what the scoreboard says at the end of the game!
I always ask for help when I need it, and I always have someone around to give it. That’s what makes the environment so darn awesome!
*To all my friends and staff in section NA…you know who you are, and I appreciate your help and support! WE ARE!!!
